In August, the Commission on Children, Youth, and Families held its first-ever retreat, bringing together commissioners, partners, and experts from across disciplines and communities. Over the course of two days, we worked alongside the National Center for State Courts in an intensive workshop designed to shape the future direction of the Commission. Together, we developed a new strategic plan that reflects innovative, streamlined approaches to addressing the needs of children, youth, and families in Arkansas. The retreat highlighted the strength of diverse voices judges, attorneys, service providers, educators, and community representatives all contributing their unique expertise and perspectives. This collaborative effort ensures that our Commission’s work continues to be guided by forward-thinking strategies, rooted in shared commitment, and responsive to the complex challenges facing children and families in our state.
